not my fault
fireflies croak in clear jars
tiny sprites hide in enormity
real easily and constantly are lies
firehosed like smelly clown confetti
crazy with how to even start
so MUCH has been contrived
absolutely conspiratorial
our history mercilessly fated
by mad genius cannibals
as a kid, teased as gullible
who knew it’s pandemic?
in moments one teacher’s eyes
revealed way sadder than her shared facts
no wonder they lollipop casualties
essays are heart slow
editorials are myopic
newscasts are lazy
sermons are sanctimonious
narratives are instantly tardy
speech devoured in tornadoes
eyesight raped with dirt
nobody speaks with the homeless
pity gifts buy his liquor
drunkenness is way too shallow for swimming
